What the Full STI Screen test covers

This is a comprehensive test for:

  • Chlamydia (genital )
  • Gonorrhoea (genital)
  • Ureaplasma species
  • Mycoplasma Genitalium
  • Gardnerella
  • Trichomonas
  • Herpes

How the test works

You will receive your sample collection kit in a discreet package, so no one can tell what is inside.

Either a vaginal swab or a urine sample is used for this test profile. Vaginal swabs are recommended for female patients unless they have urinary tract symptoms. Male patients can only use the urine sample collection kit.

The sample is taken as directed (using very simple to follow instructions). You send back the urine or swab sample in a prepaid envelope included with the kit. Once your sample has been received, your results will be ready within 36 hours. Please note that the lab that processes this test panel does not report results over the weekend - this does not affect sample processing.

Samples are sent back to our laboratory using Royal Mail 24 Tracked. This is included in the price we charge. This is a tracked service, but the packages can be sent back from any post box in the UK.

Test Accuracy

The testing is performed in one of the UK's leading pathology laboratories, and has has a high level of accuracy. This is the same test that would be performed if you were to attend a clinic face to face. We have utilised existing lab technology to provide a service that is convenient for patients. Your results will be interpreted by a UK registered doctor, whose name and GMC registration number will be displayed on your patient dashboard when the process is complete.
